Enter Artwork into Scholastic Art Awards
RBHS Deadline for uploading artwork:  1-9-2019
  1. IMPORTANT:  When finished, Do Not print out submission forms!
  2. If you are on fee waivers here at RB, Please talk to Mr Jensen. (It's a good thing)
  3. RB's Fine Art Department will provide 1 paid entry to the Scholastic Art Awards Show for any AP Studio Art Student.
  4. All Art Students are invited to enter additional artwork at their own expense.
  5. Each entry is $5.00.  Here are the categories.
    • An Art portfolio entry fee is $20.00 (paid by student). You must be a senior.
    • You will make the check payable to RBHS.
  6. You can register at any time.
  7. Before you attempt to upload artwork you must have large digital files of your artwork ready to upload. This means the artwork must be documented and the file saved on the Gdrive, school server or readied on a jump drive. File needs to be a 300 dpi/ppi file, 7" on longest side.
    • Click FAQ , then "What size should my image be?"  
  8. You are responsible for entering your own artwork into the Scholastic Art Awards competition.

Photo 2 & 3, Digital Joiner

Usually if a student is going to do something fun or out of the ordinary during the school year it might happen over Spring Break.
So your assignment over Spring Break 2014 is to shoot several Joiners.
The term 'Joiner' was coined by David Hockney.
Above is one of his early Joiners.
Your assignment is to shoot several  Joiners over Spring break.
Do some quick and easy online research to see how others have shot and created Joiners.
This is a fantastic 25 minutes section of a film made about Hockney's joiner process.
WATCH and LISTEN to the ENTIRE video.

Process:
PHOTO 2:
  1. Select an interesting scene or subject.
  2. Digitally shoot the scene in the 'Joiner' tradition. 15 to 30 images. 
  3. Photo 2: Print the images at a Walgreens or CVS. Sizes that are good, 4x6 will work, but 3 1/2" x 5" or smaller might be best.
  4. Bring prints in Tuesday April 1, 2014. We will join them Wed, Thursday...
PHOTO 3:
  1. Select an interesting scene or subject.
  2. Digitally shoot the scene in the 'Joiner' tradition. 15 to 30 images. 
  3. Photo 3: Bring in Digital files to work with on Monday, March 31, 2014.
  4. Digital files will be transferred to computer to work in Photoshop.
  5. You will join them Tues, Wed, Thurs...
